Greenwich, Connecticut, is one of the most desirable and luxury suburbs in the United States, along with the lines of Beverly Hills, California. The largest town on Connecticut’s Gold Coast, it is home to many hedge funds and other financial service companies. CNN/Money and Money magazine ranked Greenwich first on its list of the “100 Best Places to Live in the United States” in 2005.[2] The town is named after Greenwich, a borough of London in the United Kingdom.

Recreation

The town has four beautiful beaches on Long Island Sound: Greenwich Point, Byram Beach, Island Beach (Little Captain’s Island), and Great Captain Island. There is also a community sailing center and a rental area located in the park. Bicycling and roller-blading are popular sports on the trails and paths in the summer.
Greenwich owns as well the Griffith E. Harris golf course. The 18-link course is named so after “Griff” Harris, the first selectman from 1952 to 1958. There are also eight country clubs in town with golf courses, and the Dorothy Hamill Rink is also in town.
