Hacienda Palancar

Location

Hacienda Palancar is located in the Yucatan Peninsula on the coast of Quintana Roo, Mexico, a 30-minute drive South of Tulum. The 70-acre estate lies between the Capechen Lagoon and the Caribbean Sea in the heart of the one million acre Sian Ka’an Nature Reserve, a protected UNESCO World Heritage site.

The estate can be reach by air, car and by helicopter. It is a 2-hour drive from Cancun Airport as well as a 20-minute flight by helicopter.

Furthermore, the property has a total of 70.3 acres (28.45 hectares) including, 2148.25 feet (654.79 metros) of incomparable white sand beach. The luxurious family compound is comprised of 19,000 feet of construction, including 5 buildings with separate master, living, kitchen, guest and staff buildings. This includes carpentry and mechanic shops and maintenance offices. The primary buildings have vaulted ceilinged verandas for comfortable outdoor living.

So the hacienda lends itself to privacy, leisure and relaxation. It is indeed a cozy, family home where one can enjoy peace, quiet and casual dining or a splendid place to receive guests, sophisticated entertaining and gourmet dining.

Construction

Feel the timeless spirit of Spanish colonial design in Hacienda Palancar’s strong and stunning architecture. Named after the Caribbean’s second largest coral reef, Hacienda Palancar took six years of meticulous planning and two years of painstaking construction, thus completing in 2009.

Architecture

Step into a treasure trove of fine culture as you enter a traditional Spanish arrangement inspired by classic architecture and world-class design. Dine and relax under the stars on scenic rooftops, surrounded by grand miradors influenced by Hispano-Moorish architecture. Walk the stone corridor to the main kitchen, inspired by a 16th Century convent in Oaxaca, with its high domed ceilings, skylight and hand-painted tiles. Sit in a breakfast room and enjoy a meal over the soothing sound of rolling tides as you gaze over the majestic ocean.

Security

Palancar is entirely private, secluded and fully protected by security cameras. Only one road leads in or out of the Reserve with security checkpoints at the entrance and exit.

Sustainability

Furthermore, the buildings of Hacienda Palancar collect rainwater in swimming pool sized cisterns beneath the buildings. There, the water is fully filtered, processed and stored to be completely drinkable and reusable throughout the home.

Hacienda Palancar features as well the largest array of solar panels in private hands in all of Mexico. Thus you’ll have enough energy to meet your normal use needs and more. But just in case, three large state-of-the-art diesel generators can operate as back up.
